Useful Resource

I purchased this book to supplement my health psychology knowledge. I found it to be of immediate use and written in a manner that was easy to comprehend and would be appropriate for graduate psychology students. This is the best health psychology book I have found for use as a clinical resource. If you do consulting in a primary care setting, this book is highly useful. Even if you do not work in a primary care setting, this book can increase awareness of biological influences on mental health.

Rich Dad broke the code.

I ordered this book with a skeptical outlook. The other financial instruction books I purchased for my teen lasted all of ten minutes. This book arrived, she opened it, started reading, and didn't put it down until finished. She was so excited, she called me at work to tell me she had learned about assets, liabilities, expenses, and income. She said the concepts were so simple, she didn't understand why they aren't teaching this in school. Now, she's pointing out investments to me! Rich Dad actually got the attention and respect of a teenager. I'm very impressed.

Help Your Kids Save Their Pennies

This is a children's comic book that presents kids with the information that goes way beyond "Save your pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves." There are also subtle lessons on values and ethics, too. It shows--pictorially, using two different styles--how a youngster can put the concepts they represent immediately to work. The book goes well beyond the "save your pennies" philosophy I was raised on. The book introduces terms that some kids never hear until they take their first economics class. I liked the presentation style that looks vaguely like a Tim Allen movie--artistic washes, subtle tones. Kids will love the brightly colored segments. More importantly--for the parents at least--they are sure to absorb some sound ideas about ensuring their own futures. The purpose of the book is clear: the sooner you learn to manage your money, the more you'll have to enjoy.

Not one of my favorites...

I am huge Gerri Hill fan and have read most of her books. This one though, falls a little short in my opinion. The story revolves around two charcters, Jo and Kelly, both in their mid-30s and both professors at a college. Jo has been cheated on and left by her long time lover and refuses to let anyone get close to her. Kelly is an athlete, writer, who has a reputation of being a player. Easy markings for typical yet enjoyable story.

The reason I didn't love this was that Jo got on my nerves with her insecurity and her possesiveness. And Kelly, well she just kept taking the beatings. I get it, love and wanting and all that but really...it was little more that I think as a reader I could take. And then there was the lack of display of the said reputation of Kelly. I would have liked to see more happen as in Jo going out on a date, something more with Deb perhaps. I don't really know, I just know something was missing to really tie the story of the two characters together.

I didn't hate the book...but it's not one of my favorites and probably not one that I read again in the future any time.

Love wins!

This is my first time reading a book by this author. I enjoyed it immensely. One of the characters, Jo, had insecurity and trust issues. After a previous bad relationship that is understandable. She found someone who was patient enough to hang in there with her and help her overcome those issues. Sometimes, that happens in real life. That would be wonderful if everyone was blessed like that. A very good read! I can't wait to read other works by this author.

Utterly Dreadful

Anastasi and Urbina's Psychological Testing is arguably the worst-written book I have ever had the displeasure of reading. The book is rife with arcane jargon that the authors never bother to define. This is a textbook, and, by definition, textbooks are supposed to explain their subject matter, not treat the reader as if he or she already knows it. If the reader already knows the subject matter, then he or she doesn't need to be reading the book in the first place. Anastasi and Urbina may know some things about testing, but when it comes to understanding the needs of a reading audience, they do not have a clue. If the book had not been required for a course, I would have tossed it in the fire pit after the first few pages. Robert Gregory's textbook is far superior.

Outstanding Book

I read book 1 before reading this book. This book is excellent and has practical suggestions and advice and wisdom about unlocking our Destinies and interceding for others to help unlock their destinies.

I agree that many people live a life that is unfulfilling and even boring having the sense that they could be doing so much more or making such a difference.

I read many books and this is one of the most important books I have ever read.

I highly recommend this book.

This book holds amazing information. All my life I have been taught ...

Wow! I learned I was ineffective praying the wrong way. This book holds amazing information.
All my life I have been taught that we needed to go into battle to pray. Mr. Henderson shows how that information was misdirected. Rather, we need to take our requests before the Great Judge of all, Father God and let Him judge between us and our adversary. There is a huge difference between operating on a battlefield and the courts of Heaven. There is no place in the New Testament where Jesus taught on prayer that He talked about a battlefield, but He placed prayer in the court of Heaven.
We don't need to fight and exhaust ourselves in prayer. In Luke 18, the woman before the unjust judge only spoke to the judge. And, how much more will our Heavenly Father, who loves us, give us what we need. He will give us bread when we ask, instead of a stone... well, you know the rest of that scripture.
In the past I purchased every book I could find on prayer, and tried all the approaches. I had some small successes, but not what I needed and hoped for.
I HIGHLY recommend this book! I discovered why my prayers have not been answered. I am now going through the book again, chapter by chapter and making notes to better understand how to 'approach the throne of grace and find help in time of need.' If you are not getting your prayers answered, you need this book.
It will teach you to take off the battle garments and learn how to get your family restored and drawn to the Lord, after you rightly approach our Great and Awesome Judge, allowing Him to rule on your behalf.
Since operating in the protocol of the court and not performing in battle mentality, I have already seen some amazing answers. Please don't get me wrong, putting on the full armor of God and standing in faith definitely is vital to our spiritual walk. But if we look at that scripture, we are to dress for battle, then to stand. Battlefield activity has no place in the courtroom. But understanding the protocol of the Court of Heaven is absolutely vital. I am so excited to see what the Lord will do with my family.
If I had known before I got this book how informative and instructional it was, I would have willingly paid so much more for it. It is that amazing. You will benefit greatly by getting this book.
