Good Method Book for Teens

I have been teaching teens and adults from the James Bastien Older Beginner series which is good, but I find that teens are happier with the song selection from the Faber series. You get songs such as "The Mysterious Casbah", and "Jazz Blast" which entertain as they teach. Also I should point out that the Faber series introduces pentascales before teaching an entire scale. I prefer teaching the entire scale right away. So to sum it up, I prefer the James Bastien method for its theory structure, but like the song selection in the Faber method better. Why not use both? Yep, that's what I do. Happy teaching and playing!

Great piano series for beginners.

Great series of books for beginners. My son is currently using this particular book and enjoys it. The difficulty level is just about right for him, and he's been playing about half a year now. The first book was great too!

My son takes his piano lessons seriously. His teacher suggested switching to Faber adult books. I'm glad we made the change. These books are helping him advance on his piano technique, and theory.
